About
Hi! I’m Craig
Hello, I’m Craig and I set up dad-hoc as a place for me to gather my thoughts and share my experiences on many aspects of my life.
I work in higher education; I’m completing a Doctor of Education part-time exploring academic identities and I am a fan of socialising with my friends. I achieved a major life goal in May 2019 by becoming a dad through the adoption process. My son, Ryan is the best thing that has ever happened to me and much of this blog will touch on my experiences of parenting and adoption. I am in no way, shape or form an expert, these are merely my experiences and opinions.
I enjoy writing and thought that I would combine my love of writing and being social by setting up this blog. I try to be social on socials and I can be followed and connected with on Instagram and Twitter.
I am in the process of decorating, renovating, and extending a semi-detached Victorian house and some of that may feature here. I do like buying nice things for my and the house and you may see some of my purchases featured here and I am always up for recommendations so please do get in touch.
Having recently moved back to Glasgow, the city where I grew up, a lot of my weekends are spent exploring the city and the surrounding beautiful areas such as Loch Lomond and the many beaches and coastal towns. I love getting out and about to explore cool places to eat, drink coffee, eat cake or have a cocktail with Ryan as my sidekick.
I expect that this blog will feature lots of gadgets, scented candles, nice interiors, grooming products as I am obsessed with them all. Reading is my go-to way to unwind, and I do love a good biography. There may be some misadventures of parenting that ought to give you a laugh or two as let’s face it – its bloody tough but so much fun! What a better way to combine all the things I enjoy than blogging about them and sharing them with you all. Hopefully, you enjoy reading and commenting and I can’t wait to hear from you by email and social media.
You may wonder why I don’t post pictures of my son on here and that’s simple. This blog is my passion and I want to respect his privacy. Sure, I share stories of him and his antics, but that’s different to posting photos of him all over the net. He may make the odd appearance here or on my socials but that’s all. I hope your understand and still enjoy reading.
